Flesh golems are fairly potent tanks that put out a decent amount of damage. They can make it easier to pull a fight together when it goes pear-shaped.
But, whatever. Can we have one MM thread ever where someone doesn't try to make it all about AotL vs. AFG?

I think someone used OoB for their MM. To compensate for energy. But whatever, people like to use an elite over another, and that is fine. Some people hate the Golem (may look ugly, may be slow, may like to shake its hand when its bored, etc.) others hate AotL (its an enchantment, it doesn't provide any offense, it drops your max health, etc.), the fact remains everyone has their own opinion on what they like.
There is no one true way to play a type of character or build. What works for some, may not work for others.
Some like the army aspect of a MM, others may like the explosions that they make, others just like to stay alive.

i didn't insist shit. it's my opinion and i suppose next time i'll put imo in front of everything i type.
imo, the golem is slow as hell. slow to the target and slow to swing his big slowass arm. i don't think he's that great of a tank if he takes 3 to 5 seconds to get to the target. he'll do ok dmg when he does finally swing. dps from the fiends is better. i dont think that's an opinion.
if you're into death nova the golem is the minion for you.
thanks for your opinion kali. but from your own words, i dont think fairly potent or decent dmg is what you want from your elite.

The golem attacks at about half the rate of a fiend does, for about 3-5 times the damage (at 16 death magic). They are also incidently the same speed other minions. So really unless you have absolutely no need for any melee minions and are running strictly with fiends, AoTL would be better for you. Otherwise throw in 2-3 vampiric horrors and your health problems from BoTM are gone and you can spam away. Then of course theres the benefit of always having one up for long stretches of few/no corpses so your not completely useless sitting there spamming away deathly chill and wanding.

I won't make this a long post, however my MM build substitues Spiteful Spirit for Flesh Golem. (Death maxxed of course)
May not be the most efficient MM build out there.. but the added damage from SS at lvl 8 does wonders.. and makes me feel less useless when I'm stuck w/ no corpses.
